The South Dakota Open Meetings Commission was created by the Legislature in 2004. By law (SDCL 1-25-8), the Commission is must consist of five state's attorneys appointed by the South Dakota Attorney General. The current members are John Steele, Chair (Aurora County), Lisa Rothschadl (Bon Homme County), Vaughn Beck (Edmunds County), Glenn Brenner (Pennington County), and Mark Reedstrom (Grant County). Assistant Attorney General Diane Best is assigned to assist the Board with procedural matters.
