Improperly inflated tires, excessive idling, storing unnecessary objects, poor driving, and excessive speed all use extra fuel.

Buy Energy-Star Approved Electronics

Many Energy-Star approved electronics use less energy when turned off but still plugged in. Go to www.EnergyStar.gov.

Manage your Computer's Power

Program your monitor and computer to go into sleep mode and turn off speakers, scanners, printers when not in use.

Use your Air-Conditioning Less

Keep windows covered during the day, raise the thermostat when you're away from home, clean or replace filters as recommended, use compact fluorescent bulbs, install programmable thermostats and ceiling fans.

Subject to prior approval, the State of South Dakota has many areas and facilities, including several in the State Capitol itself, available for public events and displays.

This includes both indoor facilities as well as outdoor displays which may occur at various times during the year.
