The South Dakota Office of Procurement Management acted as the lead state for a National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) cooperative solicitation that has established a national contract for the purchase of remanufactured Hewlett Packard printer cartridges containing biobased toner.   Midwestern states indicating their intention of using the contract include Iowa, North Dakota and Nebraska, along with South Dakota.  The contract is open to all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as political subdivisions.

The contract was awarded to Lasermonks Inc, out of Sparta, Wisconsin.  Information on how to use the contract can be found on the Office of Procurement Management website at http://www.state.sd.us/boa/opm/WSCA-NASPO/NASPO_BiobasedToner.htm

Contact Kathy Stasch at the Office of Procurement Management for more information.  Phone:  605-773-6877.

The Office of Procurement Management has implemented a new electronic procurement system hosted by Mercury Commerce Solutions.  Vendor's began registering on the system on June 25, 2007.  OPM will begin issuing formal and informal solicitations through the new system on July 1, 2007.

Registered bidders will not only receive electronic notification of bidding opportunities issued through the system, but will also be able to submit their response online through the system in most instances.

There is a $50 annual fee to be a registered bidder.
