The written handling and discharge response plan I have developed contains all of the following elements:

1. Methods & procedures to be used for the transfer, loading, unloading, mixing, repackaging & refilling of pesticide containers & pesticide application equipment.
2. Methods & procedures to be used for the periodic inspection of equipment used to transfer or hold pesticides.
3. Methods for the repair or replacement of any equipment found to be defective.
4. Methods & procedures used for the rinsing, washing & cleaning of pesticide containers & application, storage or transportation equipment.
5. Method & procedures to be used in the transfer, handling, storage & disposal of materials recovered from within operational area containment, if required.
6. Methods, procedures, materials & equipment to be used to contain, recover, store, transport & dispose of discharges outside of Operational Area Containment systems.
7. The identity & telephone numbers of responsible persons & agencies who are to be contacted if a discharge or other emergency situation occurs.

As a private or commercial applicator, I train all of my employees at least annually on the use of the handling and discharge response plan and train any new employees within 3 days of the employee assuming pesticide handling duties.

I keep my pesticide and handling discharge plan current and keep it either at the operational area or on file at the nearest office.
