Work To Begin on Interstate 90 Between
Mount Vernon and White Lake
Mitchell, S.D. – Work has begun in preparation for non-reinforced concrete paving between Mount Vernon and White Lake in the west bound lanes on Interstate 90. Contractors are constructing median crossovers and preparing the east bound lanes for head to head traffic. During this phase of construction, travelers should expect one lane traffic with lane closures.
Work is scheduled to begin on concrete removal and concrete paving in the west bound lanes the week of May 26th. During this phase of construction, traffic will be head to head in the east bound lanes and speeds will be reduced to 65 MPH from MRM 297 near White Lake to MRM 309 near Plankinton. Work is expected to be completed by October 29, 2009.
The Prime Contractor is Upper Plains Contracting, Incorporated of Aberdeen, SD.
