SD Highway 25 Chip Seal from DeSmet South
HURON, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will be chip sealing a 12.5 mile section of SD Hwy 25 from DeSmet to the Kingsbury/Miner County Line. The chip seal is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 and be completed by Friday, July 24, weather permitting.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane. A short delay can be expected while traveling through the work area. Loose gravel will be present for a period of 36 to 72 hours after each day’s chip seal application. Traffic should travel at 40 MPH during this time frame. The permanent pavement marking is scheduled to be applied within 14 days of completion of the chip seal.
The prime contractor for the project is Asphalt Paving and Materials Co. from Huron, SD.
