Fatal Crash
What: One vehicle fatal crash
When: 08/09/09, at approximately 0222 hrs.
Where: 250th Street, 3 miles west and 1 mile north of Kimball
Who: Unit # 1: Driver: Caleb N. Weber, 18, Pukwana, SD
Injuries: Fatal injuries
Vehicle: 2004 Dodge Stratus
Seatbelt Use: Under investigation
Alcohol involved: Unknown at this time.
Investigation status: Crash remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol
Description: A one vehicle crash kills one near Kimball, SD.
Caleb Weber was driving a 2004 Dodge Stratus east on 250th Street in BruleCounty. He was three miles west and one mile north of Kimball when he struck a horse that was on the roadway. The Dodge went into the north ditch. Weber was pronounced dead at the scene.
The horse was killed.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Brule County Sheriff’s Department.
