Gov. Rounds announces Murdo Capital for a Day

MURDO, S.D.Gov. Mike Rounds announced today that he plans to visit Murdo on Wednesday, September 23, for the second 2009 Capital for a Day.  The event will be held at the MurdoCommunity Center, and a complete agenda will be released at a later date.

“Capital for a Day brings government to the people,” said Gov. Mike Rounds. “Those who are unable to travel to Pierre on a regular basis have an opportunity to discuss their issues with the various state departments.  It also gives state employees a chance to learn more about activities in the regions outside of Pierre.  I’m looking forward to visiting the Murdo community and learning about topics important to the people living there.”

"We are thrilled to welcome Governor Mike Rounds, his staff, and the other state departments to our community,” said Mayor Kelcy Nash. “The Capital for a Day program gives local residents the opportunity to make contact with state government agencies that can help them answer questions or work to solve problems. We look forward to their visit and the chance to showcase our community to the rest of the state.”
