Monday-Friday, August 24-28, DOL local offices, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (CDT) – The Department of Labor’s (DOL) employment specialists are available to help businesses post job openings online, screen applicants, refer candidates, set up interviews and arrange interview space at any DOL office. There are 19 locations across the state. To view an office directory and other available business services, visit www.sdjobs.org.

Tuesday, August 25, Pierre, 1 p.m. (CDT) - The South Dakota Aeronautics Commission will hold a meeting in the DOT Commission Room (Room 200) of the Becker-Hansen Building, located at 700 E. Broadway Avenue. Tuesday, August 25, Sioux Falls, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. (CDT) –Brad Johnson, chairman of the state Board of Water and Natural Resources, will present two national Environmental Protection Agency awards during ceremonies in Sioux Falls. Dave Munson, mayor of Sioux Falls, will accept a Performance and Innovation in the State Revolving Fund Creating Environmental Success award for the city of Sioux Falls. The award will be presented at 1:30 p.m. at Dunham Park, Marion Rd. and Silver Valley Dr., in Sioux Falls. Lloyd Rave, Minnehaha Community Water Corporation president, will accept a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Award for Sustainable Health Protection on behalf of Minnehaha Community Water. Tuesday, August 25, Yankton, 2 p.m. (CDT) - The Department of Revenue and Regulation, Property and Special Taxes Division, is hosting an ag land productivity valuation regional workshop at the Regional Technical Education Center (R-Tec), 1200 West 21st Street. This workshop will offer helpful information on the upcoming assessment changes for agricultural land by introducing the productivity valuation system adopted by the 2009 legislative session. Wednesday-Thursday, August 26-27, Digital Dakota Network & Teleconference, 2 p.m. (CDT) -The state Board of Water and Natural Resources will meet from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, over the Digital Dakota Network and at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, by teleconference. Digital Dakota Network sites will be in Pierre, Rapid City, Watertown, Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, Brookings, and Mitchell. The board will consider applications for funds from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, Solid Waste Management, and State Water Resources Management System programs. The board will also receive an update on the sale of State Revolving Fund Program Bond Anticipation Notes and consider authorization to distribute requests for proposals for Drinking Water State Revolving Fund 2% set-aside for small system technical assistance activities.
