Pierre, S.D. – Governor Mike Rounds has appointed Tom Glover of Burke to serve as the Water Development District’s representative on the State Conservation Commission.
Glover is currently a member of the South Central Water Development District board.
“Tom brings a variety of experiences to the Conservation Commission,” said South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture Bill Even. “He has farmed and ranched, been a state legislator, served on the Gregory County FSA committee, and participated in several civic groups. He will be a valuable asset to the Commission.”
Glover will serve as one of nine commissioners on the State Conservation Commission. The Commission, which has administrative oversight of South Dakota’s 69 Conservation Districts, is charged with overseeing the development and implementation of the State Coordinated Plan and setting natural resource policy.
Glover’s appointment will continue until Jan. 1, 2012.
