Lyman County Crash Victims Identified
What: Double fatality, one-vehicle crash

Where: SD Highway 248 (old Highway 16) five miles west of Presho
PRESHO, S.D. – Two people died and a third was seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover early Friday morning on old Highway 16 about five miles west of Presho.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol identified the victims as Maci M. Busack, 16, of Kennebec and Alexis A. Bowsher, 19, of Minot, N.D. Both were dead at the scene.
Candace L. Volmer, 21, of Presho, was transported to a Chamberlain hospital and then transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.
The accident happened shortly before 4 a.m. on S.D. Highway 248, known locally as old Highway 16. The three were traveling east in a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The driver overcorrected when the vehicle drifted toward the side of the road. The pickup rolled several times on the roadway. All three of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle. None were wearing seatbelts. Investigators weren’t immediately certain who was driving the vehicle.
The investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing. Lyman County Sheriff, LymanCounty ambulance and Presho Fire Department assisted at the scene.
