PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds asks that all flags in the state be flown at half staff on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until sunset, in honor of former South Dakota State Representative Royal “Bud” Wood of Warner, who died Nov. 19.

“Bud Wood was a distinguished legislator who served his district with pride for 26 years,” Gov. Rounds said. “We extend our condolences to his family.”

Royal “Bud” Wood served from 1967-1992 in the South Dakota House. He was speaker of the House during the 1989-1990 legislative sessions.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. CST at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Ave. NE, in Aberdeen, with burial at the Warner Township Cemetery.
